Jennifer Mesch is a contemporary dance choreographer originally from Empire,
Michigan. She directs the Jen Mesch Dance Conspiracy in which she collaborates with dancers, sound artists, musicians, linguists,
scientists, artists, engineers, actors, and architects. Mesch holds degress in dance and botany from Western Michigan University and currently works in the field of echocardiography. She has worked in several apsects of dance, including choreographing for avant-garde theaters, writing as a freelance dance critic, and teaching dance composition, technique, history, and theory.

Rebel Ballet!
Monday 5:30-6:45 pm
Class Description:
Intermediate level, 18+ only.
The ballet class I always wanted to take.
Ballet class referencing many philosophies of dance and movement without all the pink and preciousness. Wear a tiara and camo if you like. Themes this winter include: "The Fine Art of Dancing Backward," "Men's Moves," and "Androgynous Ballet Partnering."
Dance Improv as Performance
Monday 6:45-8:00 pm all levels.
NOTE: January 29, 2012 we will meet at U of A, FAB, Studio 27 from 8-9:30.
Class Description: This class is for anyone who is interested in movement and contributing effectively to an improvisation ensemble. Discussion and feedback in a positive atmosphere will be part of every class. Guest teachers from other performance disciplines will join us. Performance opportunities for members of the class who attend regularly and demonstrate strong solo and ensemble work.
NOTE: This class will meet at least once per month with the eXperimental Improvisational Music Ensemble (XIME) at U of A. Those classes meet 8-9:30 in Studio 27, FAB, U of A. Always check the schedule to be sure of the class time/location.
Proposed Summer Class:
Choreography and Performance
Improvisation, solo and ensemble work. Members of the class will have in-class assignments and homework. You'll have a chance to create new work, revamp previous choreography, and learn about being a more effective director and collaborator. An informal studio performance will happen in early fall.
